Ever since she was a little girl, Casey always dreamed of having a pretty wedding. Using Pinterest for inspiration, Casey collected her ideas and passed them onto the people who helped make her wedding day what it was. The end result was a wedding with a touch of vintage glam, romantic pastel colours, lace and fresh flowers. The styling of the ceremony and reception tied together beautifully, and seeing her ideas come to life took Casey’s breath away.
Casey and her partner Brett met over six years ago via a mutual friend. He was a twenty-one year old skater boy with scruffy hair and a lip ring, and Casey admits she liked him from the very beginning.
“When we met we hit it off straight away. He was so easy to talk to and made me laugh. At first I had a little crush on him and then it turned into so much more. Even after six years have passed and we have both grown so much, he still makes me laugh.”
Casey and Brett held their wedding reception in the Fraser Room at the Hervey Bay Boat Club, overlooking the marina. The beautifully designed candy bar, crystal chandelier, soft lighting and silk drapes, large glass vases with fresh flowers and gorgeous white tiffany chairs really gave the reception ‘wow’ factor, which Casey had been hoping for.
“It was the little touches that really made everything come together,” she said.
The reception also included a gorgeous cake, great music and amazing food, with a photo booth to entertain guests.
The ceremony took place at Upper Dayman Park Lookout in Hervey Bay. Having visited the site the day before the wedding, Casey and Brett found it a little breezy and decided to use a silk-lined marquee to keep themselves and their guests comfortable. The rose petal aisle, beautiful fresh flowers on pillars and all-white chairs complemented each other perfectly.
“The ceremony was so special to Brett and I,” said Casey.
“Our venue looked amazing and was everything we had hoped for. We wrote our own vows and hadn’t heard each other’s until the day, so it was such a special surprise for both of us.”
Casey and Brett’s wedding day was filled with unique details. The bridesmaids all wore individual dresses and different hairstyles, and pink chalk hearts lined the road leading to the ceremony. Fan-style programs introduced the bridal party and the seating plan was displayed on a vintage, mirrored privacy screen. The reception included an ‘In Loving Memory’ table and a unique little guest book.
Casey’s fondest memories of her wedding are saying say her vows and seeing all the guests as she walked down the aisle.
“Our wedding vows were so personal and different. I loved hearing them and could hear them time and time again.”
“One of my other favorite memories is walking into the ceremony, looking at our guests and seeing everyone smiling. I managed to look at most of our guests when I was walking down the aisle and I loved seeing all of them looking so beautiful and happy, all of them were there for us.”
Casey and Brett spent their honeymoon in the Greek Islands and Italy. They happened to be in Venice for George Clooney’s wedding, which was very exciting for the couple. On the way home they spent a few days in Dubai, their last stop on what Casey described as the “perfect” honeymoon.
